    Pressure continues to mount on Boris Johnson over sleaze accusations, as the Electoral Commission announces a probe into how a refurbishment of the flat at No 11 Downing Street was paid for.

    Mr Johnson said that he had paid for it himself at Prime Minister’s Questions, but did not answer a question about who made the first, initial payment.
