Internet: Facebook to Launch Gmail Rival

According to rumours, the popular social networking website, Facebook, is currently developing a web based mail application which is currently being called Project Titan.

Project Titan, it is claimed, will become a serious rival to free mail services such as Google’s Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Microsoft’s long standing free email service, Hotmail.

With over 500 million global users, few can argue that a comprehensive mail application would pose a major threat to the other major players in the field, though there has, as yet, been no official announcement from Facebook regarding the validity of these claims.

Facebook are to hold a press briefing on the matter later on 15th November 2010.
