An Insulate Britain protester has been accused of failing to attend a High Court hearing to attend climate protest.

Insulate Britain said Dr Diane Warner, a retired GP, blocked a delivery to Drax Power Station.

Nine further people were due to appear in court today to face a hearing for allegedly breaking the High Court injunction aimed at stopping the climate group blocking the UK’s motorways over the last several months.

They are Dr Ben Buse, Ruth Jarman, Biff Whipster, Dr Diana Warner, Paul Sheeky, Richard Ramsden, Stephen Gower, Steven Pritchard and the Rev Sue Parfitt.

Their protests saw roads across England being brought to a standstill, resulting in hundreds of arrests from numerous police forces.

A series of protests by the group Insulate Britain involving roadblocks began on 13 September 2021. The protests occurred on the M25, A1, M3 and M11 motorways in England. The first protest saw with protestors blocking five junctions of the M25.

The British Government took out an injunction against the group’s activities, but protests still occurred, however participants could be arrested and removed more quickly.
