Inside Spanish care home where half of residents have coronavirus symptoms

Spain is now considering relaxing some of its draconian lockdown measures, as official fatality rates begin to slow.(Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)

But the death toll inside its care homes – just as here in the UK – is believed to have been vastly underestimated. When Madrid released figures that include deaths in care homes of elderly residents who had coronavirus symptoms but weren’t tested – the city’s death toll almost doubled. Lindsey Hilsum has the story of how one such nursing home is coping, in Torres de la Alameda, just east of the capital.
