What can keep you safe from COVID-19? Valid information. But the pandemic comes amid an “infodemic.” Just when the world needs public interest media, they are under threat. To address fears that the pandemic could become a “media extinction” event, the United Nations supports an International Fund for Public Interest Media.

In the lead up to World Press Freedom Day on 3 May, officials commit to ensuring that trusted, impartial information is accessible to all.
