The biggest pop sensation spreading across Indonesia might not be what you expect. Adorned in hijabs, Nasida Ria is a multigenerational all-female group selling out shows across the country. Formed over four decades ago as a Koran recital group, it now boasts a dozen members with hundreds of thousands of followers. Music experts say the group is leading a resurgence in traditional music in Indonesia.
