The Indonesian all-female band Voice of Baceprot, or “Noisy Voice” in English, is gaining international attention. Formed in 2014 by three teenage girls, the heavy metal band, also known as VoB, is popular for its rebellious songs. One of the band’s biggest hits, School Revolution, criticises the country’s strict education system. The band members, who grew up in a conservative town in West Java province, initially struggled to gain their parents’ support.
