Indonesian farmers oppose cement plant construction

Farmers in Indonesia’s Karst mountains are angry about plans to build a large cement factory.

The company says the pant will bring thousands of jobs, but farmers argue the environmental cost will be far greater.

Women, leading the protest rallies, planted their feet in cement to express their disagreement with the plan.

Al Jazeera’s Step Vaessen reports from Kendeng.
