Indonesian President Joko Widodo says he is optimistic the country will be able to produce electric vehicles within the next three years. The government previously set a goal for 20% of all cars manufactured domestically to be electric ones by 2025.

ClimateWorks’ Dr Emi Gui says this is a strategic decision.
