Morgues and crematoriums in India are seeing a spike in abandoned remains of Covid-19 victims. To help ease the burden, a non-profit organisation called Shri Deodhan Sewa Samiti has been giving unclaimed bodies a final farewell. Its volunteers collect the ashes from crematoriums in and around the capital New Delhi, dealing with victims’ remains respectfully, following strict Hindu traditions.
