Sayyed Munir Kamruddin and his colleagues have been working 24-hour shifts to bury those killed by the coronavirus. The 52-year-old gravedigger has been overwhelmed as India’s Covid-19 infections soar. Official data shows that more than 300,000 people across the country have tested positive in the past week; 3,645 patients died on April 29, setting a new record for India’s highest single-day death toll so far.
