South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Indian farmers threaten weeks of protests as talks with government continue” – below is their description.
Thousands of protesting Indian farmers were still camping along at least five major highways on the outskirts of New Delhi on December 3, 2020. The farmers have been demonstrating against new laws they say will lead the government to stop buying grain at minimum guaranteed prices, paving the way for exploitation by corporations who will push down prices. Government officials have met protest leaders and offered to amend the laws, but farmers, who have stocked up weeks of food and supplies, said they will not leave until the laws are abolished.
