Indian activist ends 16-year fast over military powers

After refusing to eat for 16 years, one of India’s most prominent human rights campaigners has ended her fast.
Irom Sharmila is known as Manipur’s ‘Iron Lady’ for protesting against a law that gives sweeping powers to the military in so-called disturbed areas.
Irom says her fight against what she calls a draconian law will continue.
