South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “India launches Earth observation satellite after setback 6 months ago” – below is their description.
India launched a new Earth observation satellite, the EOS-04, on February 14, 2022. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) sent two other satellites on the same mission, including the student satellite INSPIREsat and a technology demonstrator satellite INS-2TD. Lift-off took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota island near Chennai. EOS-04 is a radar-imaging satellite that can gather high-quality pictures for agricultural purposes, forestry and plantations, soil moisture, as well as hydrology and flood mapping. It was sent to an altitude of 529km (329 miles) and is expected to have a mission lifespan of 10 years. The previous launch in the series, the EOS-03, was aborted during a scheduled August 2021 lift-off, after a rocket engine failed to ignite.
