Global News published this video item, entitled “India bus fall kills at least 25 after plunging into gorge in northern town” – below is their description.
At least 25 people were killed after a bus carrying a wedding party fell into a 500-metre deep gorge in India’s northern town of Pauri in Uttarakhand, police said on Wednesday.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the accident site and interacted with relief workers as he took stock of the situation. He also met the injured in the hospital.
The Director General of Police in Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar, said rescue operations went held throughout the entire night. Twenty people were rescued and hospitalized, with several in critical condition.
India has the world’s deadliest roads, according to Reuters — a result of a flood of untrained drivers, inadequate law enforcement, badly maintained highways and cars that fail modern crash tests.
