CCTV footage showed the moment that the woman, believed to be 70 years old, managed to fend off a 22-year-old man who tried to steal her handbag in Ostozhenka, Moscow. In the dramatic clip, the woman is seen walking along an empty pavement when a thief runs up behind the woman and grabs her handbag (left), before attempting to make a run for it. The woman refuses to let go and is dragged several metres along the road by the man (right), but eventually manages to push him off her and a pedestrian chases the thief away. The alleged attacker was arrested shortly after the incident by police officers and faces criminal charges of attempted robbery, the interior ministry said in a statement.
