Britain’s ambassador to the US, Dame Karen Pierce, says she was “honoured” to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration and described it as a “mood lightening” in Washington.
Ms Pierce hailed the “unity speech” delivered from the new President Joe Biden and said she is looking forward to ‘cooperating with his administration on climate and security’.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson also congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, hailing their arrival to the White House as “a step forward for the country that has been through a bumpy period.”
