ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “IN FULL: WA will reclassify New South Wales a COVID-19 extreme risk state from Thursday | ABC News” – below is their description.
WA Premier Mark McGowan says the state records one new coronavirus case in hotel quarantine, totaling 4 active cases.
He says NSW will be moved to its highest border control classification next Thursday.
This give people wanting to return to WA from NSW until then to be able to do it, provided they have a negative test and at least one vaccine dose.
Mark McGowan says the five-day rolling average of cases in NSW is now 531, triggering the reclassification up from high risk.
The change will usher in the most severe state border restrictions seen in Australia since the start of the pandemic, including mandatory hotel quarantine for NSW arrivals, very limited exemptions and three COVID-19 tests during quarantine.
Mr McGowan urged West Australians to return before the deadline.
“That means West Australians who want to come home need to do so now,” Mr McGowan said.ABC News (Australia) YouTube Channel
