PM Scott Morrison and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announce financial support for residents and businesses struggling during the Greater Sydney lockdown. Individuals who cannot work due to the lockdown will see their COVID-19 disaster payments increase by up to $100 a week to a maximum of $600.

Eligible businesses will also be able to access a new payment of between $1500 and $10-thousand a week, so long as they can demonstrate a 30 per cent decline in turnover. It will be contingent on companies maintaining their current staffing levels.

On Tuesday, NSW recorded 89 new cases of COVID-19.

Individuals who cannot work due to the lockdown will see their COVID-19 disaster payments increase by up to $100 a week to a maximum of $600.
