Queensland has recorded 2 new cases of local transmission prompting authorities to reinstate restrictions.

One case is in home quarantine and another woman from the Bli Bli area has the delta strain.

The Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says people should start wearing masks now.

From tomorrow at 1am masks will be mandatory in Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan , Redlands, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and Somerset local government areas
