Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “IMF global growth forecast slashes amid Omicron hit, inflation” – below is their description.
The coronavirus pandemic is putting a bigger dent into the world’s economy than expected, with the International Monetary Fund slashing its worldwide growth forecast.
It citied the spread of the Omicron variant, higher energy prices, an uptick in inflation and a deteriorating outlook for the world’s two biggest economies – the United States and China.
In the US, people are starting to feel the pinch and relying on aid organisations to help them feed their families.
Al Jazeera’s Rosiland Jordan reports from the US capital, Washington, DC.
