Guardian News published this video item, entitled “‘I feel innocent’: Capitol rioter asks Trump for pardon” – below is their description.
US Capitol rioter Jenna Ryan appealed to President Trump to pardon her in an interview on NBC’s Today programme.
Ryan is the target of an FBI investigation after taking part in the storming of the US Capitol on 6 January and posting incendiary content on social media. The estate agent, from Texas, said that she feels she is innocent and tried to play down her role in the riot.
‘I ended up getting in the Capitol for about two minutes and then I was like “ew” this is not where I want to be,” she said.
At the end of the interview, Ryan plead for a pardon from the departing President, calling herself a true Trump supporter and saying she believed he had won the election.
‘I was not a violent protestor and I ask that you would pardon me from this misdemeanour.’
