Myanmar protesters have found alternative ways to express their pain and despair since the military junta seized control of the country on February 1, 2021. Some protesters have started inking their bodies with coup-themed tattoos. Tattoo artists say the most popular images are of ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi, the three-finger salute symbol of resistance used by demonstrators and the slogans “Freedom from Fear” or “Spring Revolution”.
