Global News published this video item, entitled “Hurricane Sally: Parts of Alabama, Florida left underwater as emergency officials rescue residents” – below is their description.
Parts of Alabama and Florida were left underwater on Thursday after Hurricane Sally drenched the region with heavy rains, storm surges and high winds. The hurricane weakened into a tropical storm by Wednesday afternoon, but cities in both states were left dealing with the aftermath and officials are concerned swollen rivers could result in further flooding as more rain is still expected. Rescue efforts and National Guard assistance has begun, with some emergency responders sending crews into chest-deep floodwater to get people to safety. In Pensacola, Fla. National Guard members worked alongside first responders to help with search and rescue missions and provide generators to those who need it.
