Global News published this video item, entitled “Hurricane Sally expected to bring storm surge, heavy rain to Gulf Coast states” – below is their description.
Residents in multiple states braced for severe weather on Monday as Tropical Storm Sally “rapidly” strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane with winds reaching 90 mph, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. The NHC also warned of coastal flooding and “dangerous” storm surge. City harbor crews in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, spent the morning cordoning off boardwalks and securing items like pedestals and trash cans that can become projectiles in high winds. Meanwhile, a double red flag was flying at Panama City Beach, Florida, prohibiting the public to enter the water as Hurricane Sally approached the Gulf Coast, while other footage showed flooded streets in Dauphin Island, Alabama. Hurricane Sally was forecast to near southeastern Louisiana on Monday night and make landfall on Tuesday.
