Hurricane Iota left a trail of destruction as it passed through Nicaragua and a small Colombian archipelago. The category four flattened homes and battered roads in the tiny Colombian island of Providencia. Nearly all of the infrastructure on the island which is home to some 6,000 people has been damaged or destroyed. On Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast the storm flooded homes and streets. The port of Puerto Cabezas, still partly flooded and strewn with debris left by Eta, again bore the brunt of the hit. By late Tuesday, Iota had diminished to a tropical storm and was moving inland over northern Nicaragua and southern Honduras, but forecasters warned that its heavy rains still posed a threat of flooding and mudslides Subscribe to The Telegraph on YouTube ► https://bit.ly/3idrdLH
