The US East Coast is facing a rising death toll after the remnants of Hurricane Ida hit the region with record-breaking rain, drowning at least 46 people in their homes and cars.
The area had been warned about potentially deadly flash flooding but hadn’t braced for such a blow from the no-longer-hurricane, the storm took the lives of people from Maryland to Connecticut.
