Global News published this video item, entitled “Hurricane Ian: Category 4 storm makes landfall in Florida | LIVE” – below is their description.

Live shots from cities in Florida where hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall as a Category 4 storm, bringing heavy rains and detrimental winds to the west coast.

Approximately 2.5 million people have already been ordered to evacuate ahead of Ian’s anticipated landfall on Wednesday. It had reached Category 4 strength after crossing Cuba and entering the Gulf of Mexico.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said damage is expected across a wide area regardless of where the storm makes landfall, and people should be prepared for power outages.

The agency warned Fort Myers is in the hurricane zone, and Tampa and St. Petersburg could get their first direct hit by a major hurricane since 1921.
