Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Human rights groups denounce Cuba harassment of activist group” – below is their description.
International human rights groups have denounced the state harassment of a group of activists in Cuba. Members of the San Isidro movement have gone on hunger strike in protest against curbs on freedom of speech. They say they have been repeatedly arrested for peacefully protesting last week’s arrest of an outspoken rap artist. The government says San Isidro members are backed by Cuban Americans in the US who are trying to destroy Cuba’s revolution. But members of San Isidro say they no longer tolerate the government’s harassment and are willing to sacrifice everything for change. Al Jazeera’s Teresa Bo reports. –
