In Hubei Province, officials have announced a further lowering of its pandemic response alert beginning Saturday. Hubei Vice Governor Yang Yunyan said Friday that the province’s emergency response will be lowered from the second to the third level. Officials said Hubei, former epicenter of COVID-19 in China, has not seen any new infections for the past 24 days. The third level is the second-lowest in a four-tier emergency response system.
