A Canadian court has ruled extradition proceedings against Meng Wanzhou can proceed.

According to Justice Heather Holmes of the British Columbia Supreme Court, the fraud charges against Meng satisfied the extradition requirement of “double criminality,” meaning Meng is accused of the considered crime in Canada as well.

Meng’s lawyers will continue to fight the extradition order.

Tao Zhang, the founder and managing director of DAO Ventures, said there are more complications in the case, and it will further strain China-U.S. relations that are already quite tense.
