Huawei overtook Samsung to become the top smartphone seller worldwide in the second quarter this year. Industry tracker Canalys says this was the first time in nine years that a company other than Samsung or Apple has led the market. The research group says U.S. sanctions have stifled Huawei’s business outside the Chinese mainland, but the company dominates in its home market.
