    One of the questions to arise from the shocking alleged rape of a political staffer in a minister’s office is why the young staffer felt that making a formal complaint would end her political career.

    The laws that govern employment in Parliament House are unusual, and Brittany Higgins isn’t the first to sound the alarm about a system in which staff can be swiftly removed with little recourse.
