The Telegraph in the UK reported on the Mercedes F1 team stepping in to help with the fight against novel coronavirus by manufacturing CPAP machines.
Mercedes F1 has teamed up with experts from University College London to develop a new breathing aid to keep coronavirus patients out of intensive care.
The machine, called CPAP, has been widely used in Italy and China to help patients suffering from the virus by bridging the gap between an oxygen mask, and the need for full ventilation.

It should be noted that CPAP machines “aerosolise” virus particles, and make it very dangerous for people to be in the vicinity without full protective equipment. A facemask would not be sufficient if you were in the same room as someone Covid-19 infected who was on a CPAP machine.
For example, one practitioner commented:
While CPAP is perhaps better than nothing, it will make a very hostile environment for those in the vicinity who do not have the infection. It is not a substitute for a ventilator.
