As Australia’s economy roars back from the COVID recession, the housing market is booming but not just in the big cities. Lockdowns are forcing millions to work from home which have made regional centres more desirable and this has pushed prices up.
There’s also upward pressure on rental prices and low vacancy rates. There are now calls for government intervention to help those priced out by the regional property surge, as Ellen Coulter reports.
