How China is transforming the lives of its rural people

CGTN published this video item, entitled “How China is transforming the lives of its rural people” – below is their description.

China’s poverty alleviation program has helped many people, among them were the people of Daojiao Village, located in Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province. On January 18, 2020, residents of the village, which was located in a mountainous region, moved to a resettlement site in Maojiawan, Ludian County. Their new home provided them with housing and jobs. The program also helped the embroiderers from Sanglang Village, Guizhou Province. Wangmo County’s “Embroidery Plan,” which helped women develop a traditional handicraft industry, has created a blueprint showing more than 15,000 women in the county how they can make a living through needlework. This new skill even led them to the stage at Buckingham Palace, where they amazed the world by combining traditional Miao embroidery with modern fashion.
