Horror and grief after Texas school shooting, Joe Biden calls for action

South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Horror and grief after Texas school shooting, Joe Biden calls for action” – below is their description.

Americans were horrified and grief-stricken after a shooting at a junior school killed 19 children and two teachers on May 24, 2022. “Why are we willing to live with this carnage?” asked US President Joe Biden as he called for stricter gun control. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut and NBA coach Steve Kerr also made emotional pleas urging passage of a gun background check law.

The rampage comes less than 2 weeks after an 18-year-old man shot and killed 10 people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.

The US Supreme Court is expected to rule on a New York state case that could expand the right to carry concealed guns.
