Horrifying crash aftermath: 13 dead, 21 injured in oil tanker-truck collision in China

Thirteen people died in a traffic accident inside a tunnel in north China’s Hebei Province on Tuesday. An oil tanker rear-ended a coal truck in a highway tunnel linking the cities of Zhangjiakou and Shijiazhuang.
The collision took place 30 meters (98ft) from the tunnel exit, causing an explosion and subsequent fire that damaged nine vehicles. Rescuers confirmed the 13 deaths at the site, and three seriously injured people were sent to hospital. The explosion and subsequent fire also damaged 43 nearby homes, injuring 17 residents and one rescue worker.
