Holidaymakers stranded after dust clouds wreak havoc in Canary Islands

British holidaymakers are stranded at airports in the Canary Islands after a Saharan sandstorm hit the region.

Flights from Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma and North Tenerife Airports were cleared for take off early on Monday morning after hours of delays due to the weather conditions.

But flights from South Tenerife remain grounded.
