Two NASA astronauts have blasted their way into the history books. Last weekend, they were sent into space by Elon Musk’s SpaceX rocket and later boarded the International Space Station. It’s a first for a private company and a first in nearly a decade for NASA. Meanwhile, China is expected to launch the last satellite of its BeiDou Navigation Satellite in June. The U.S. GPS will no longer be the only option for China, as the BeiDou is expected to provide more accurate service. How do competition and cooperation play their key roles in the international space industry? Right before the SpaceX launch, Tian Wei talked to Prof. Wu Ji, former director general of the National Space Science Center under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Wu congratulated the move as a big step forward in public-private partnership for space exploration. #NASA #spaceflight
