They travelled to Sheffield in their thousands hoping to see their team win a place in an FA cup final. 96 of those Liverpool fans were never to return home.
For their families grief has been compounded by the lies, smears and misinformation surrounding the behaviour of Liverpool supporters: claims for years by the police that a drunken mob caused the crush and the infamous Sun headline which accused fans of hooliganism.
Today though the jury exonerated the living and the dead.
