Excerpts – The United Nations General Assembly held a special meeting to commemorate the Organization’s 75th anniversary. “At its birth, the United Nations was a symbol of global unity, and today it is the epicenter,” said Secretary-General António Guterres. Representatives from the international community stood in the UN General Assembly to reaffirm their commitment to the promise made 75 years ago: to promote global peace and progress through cooperation. Eleanor Wikstrom – Youth Poet Laureate “Maybe there is something more to this human inheritance than darkness and entropy, failure and freefall; something you have to choose: a fight that never ends, a hope that always burns, a belief that our inheritance can be greater than the sum of its parts”
