Beijing has issued several warnings, including yellow alerts for heavy rain, floods and risk of geological disasters. Rainstorms have hit Chinese capital Beijing and neighboring Tianjin, parts of Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong provinces. Forecasters have predicted up to 280mm of rainfall in parts of Beijing and nearby Hebei Province in the next 24 hours. Shelters have been opened, and several thousand households relocated from high-risk regions or unsafe houses.
