South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Hate crimes targeting Asian-Americans in California reflect rise in many US states” – below is their description.
More than 3,000 incidents of verbal harassment and physical assault have been reported in the United States since March 2020 around the time of the start of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a concern group. The figures were gathered by Stop AAPI Hate, a reporting center for Asian-American Pacific Islanders based in California. In the Chinatown area of the city of Oakland in the US state, residents have started patrolling the streets to deter future attacks like those seen recently on video captured by surveillance cameras.
