Hancock: ‘Face masks in shops will be mandatory from 24 July’

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has told Sky News while wearing a face mask in any shop or pub is currently ‘recommended’, it will become mandatory from the 24th July.

He denied there was had been any confusion in government among ministers over face masks, saying the policy had simply been strengthened from ‘recommended’ to ‘mandatory’ due to scientific advice.
