Gunmen opened fire in a bar in Soweto, South Africa in the early hours of Sunday, July 10, killing 15 people and wounding nine others.
The group entered the Orlando East tavern on the outskirts of Johannesburg and started “shooting randomly at patrons,” police said.
Investigators said the gunmen fled the scene and are now on the run, adding it is not clear how many were involved in the attack or what their motives were.
South Africa is one of the world’s most violent countries, with 20,000 people murdered ever year.
