Growing tensions in DRC as President Kabila’s term nears end

The UN is warning of further violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo if President Joseph Kabila continues to hold onto power.

According to the constitution, Kabila must step down when his second term ends in December. But the opposition has accused him of trying to hang onto power, which has led to months of violent protests.
