Bloomberg Quicktake: Now published this video item, entitled “Greta Thunberg Rips Leaders’ ‘Empty’ Climate Promises: ‘Blah, Blah, Blah'” – below is their description.

Climate activists Vanessa Nakate and Greta Thunberg opened an international youth climate summit in the Italian city of Milan on Tuesday, with impassioned speeches calling on the world to act before it is too late.

Nakate took the floor demanding “no more empty conferences”.

“It’s time to show us the money”, she said.

Thunberg had a similar message, blasting world leaders for their response to the climate crisis.

“Our hopes and dreams drown in their empty words and promises,” she said.

Thunberg dismissed their promises to address the issue as “blah, blah, blah”.

The summit – Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition – has brought together 400 young people from around the globe to lay out an agenda ahead of the COP 26 climate negotiations in Scotland in November.

Their proposals will be brought to climate and energy ministers who are meeting in the same venue for their pre-COP26 meeting later in the week.
