Bloomberg Quicktake: Now published this video item, entitled “Greta Thunberg Calls on Climate Activists to ‘Keep Going’ in Berlin” – below is their description.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg on Friday joined a climate rally outside the German Parliament in Berlin demanding stronger climate action.

The protest outside the Reichstag was part a worldwide climate strike that includes 1,400 events in 80 countries, staged by followers of the Fridays for Future movement.

It took place two days before the German national elections in which climate change has been a major topic.

Thunberg addressed the Berlin rally from a stage, telling the crowd that voting is important, but that it must be coupled with constant pressure on politicians by staging protests.”We can still turn this around,” she said to cheers. “We demand change, and we are the change.”

Global climate protests stopped due to restrictions on public gatherings caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but as restriction rules relaxed again global strikes took place in major cities worldwide including New Delhi, Prague, Rome amongst others.

Global protests are taking place five weeks ahead of November’s UN climate talks in Glasgow.
