Greece has kicked off its tourist season, with some 40 international flights expected into the country this Friday. The government and the travel operators are hoping the lure of sun, sand and sea will bring Greece a solid revenue after 2020’s miserable holiday season: tourism revenues represent more than 20% of the country’s GDP. With a fast-tracking vaccination campaign, the country has opened its borders to non-EU tourists with a negative PCR test or a vaccination certificate.
